Rainbow's End is a recently renovated, lake-front cabin on six acres in the Ocala National Forest with a dock on Grasshopper Lake. An abundance of wildlife can be seen in the Ocala National Forest, including several species of birds, black bear, alligators, otter, deer, coyote, and the elusive Florida Panther. Our guests have enjoyed many different animal sightings!
Rainbow's End is in the heart of the "Springs District" of the Ocala National Forest, just 20 minutes from 5 cold water springs. The springs are crystal clear swimming holes that provide fabulous swimming, snorkeling, diving, and fishing. You can enjoy miles of hiking on birding and horse trails in our surrounding forest. If boating is your hobby, we have canoes that you can use to explore Grasshopper Lake and do a bit of fishing or birdwatching. Astor is a quaint town that the St. John's river meanders through providing boat access to the river and Lake St. George. Boat rental is available through Astor Marina if you're looking for something a little bigger than our canoes.
Grasshopper Lake boasts beautiful sunrises and sunsets, don't forget the star gazing that comes at night when you are away from the city lights! Add a campfire and some marshmallows and your vacation is complete.
